Reading

Reading is one of the most important skills that your child needs to be successful.  Practicing letter sounds, remembering small words, looking at the pictures for more information, answering questions about the book, and learning good reading strategies will help your child develop their reading & comprehension skills.

Reading to your child and/or having them read to you every day for a few minutes is the best thing you can do.  Reading books your child is interested in will go along way with encouraging them to read and practice at home.  Go to the public library this weekend and take our some books they are interested in as well as some easy readers.  You might be surprised by the number of words and/or sentences your child can read.
